In 2019...
When I first came to Biola I was recommended for a Tour Guide position on campus by my admissions counselor. After applying and interviewing I got the position, not knowing at the time that this was a high sought after position on campus.

For the next year I led small and large tours throughout the Biola campus. I can not even begin to share how big of an impact this had on my growth during my first year on campus.

As we transitioned in to the virtual working world, I was given the opportunity to apply for a leadership role within the Admissions team. This role was working to help lead and coordinate all the Admissions Events. Within a week I found out that I got the job and expected that by the end of summer we would be back in-person running these events per usual. As you know, Covid did not end that summer. Over the course of that year my boss and I had to reinvent what events looked like for Biola and find creative ways for prospective students to engage. This meant lots of Zoom sessions, games, Zoom background creation, Late Night ZeeMee Trivia, mailing them swag, and more. There were lots of ups and downs throughout this process, but I loved getting to see how families were still being impacted despite the circumstances.

After officially opening campus again, we got the go ahead to do in-person events again! Although things weren't completely as they had been before Covid, we got to have student on campus which was the most important part! For this year we had one more person join the team and so I got to learn more about what it looks like to work alongside someone who has the same title as you. (The whole events team can be seen to your left, our boss Ashley, Brandee, and me)
Doing in-person events came with a whole new set of lessons and learning curves that weren't expected, but it was all worth it on events day when we got to see the smile faces of the students and families on campus. Skills learned doing in-person events:
